My pics, movies and powerpoints look great on the big screen, and I'll be able to travel with my 12-inch laptop instead of lugging around a desktop replacement. The colors are a bit "loud" and webtext could be clearer, but this product does exactly what I bought it for at a great price. It's simple to hook up and adjust the quality. I bought this converter kit because I'll be visiting family across country, and will need to show several powerpoint presentations, MPEG-4 videos, and pictures from my recent travels overseas. This product is well worth the money I spent. My brother's huge screen TV across country only has yellow composite video or S-Video inputs. My 12-inch (TOS U205) laptop only has VGA out. With this converter, I'm running 1024x768 on my big screen TV here.
The speech was way ahead of the video but played fine on the laptop. I purchased this box to mate with my Asus eee PC laptop and feed a video signal to a TV. Fortunately the application I'm running (smplayer) provides the + and - keys for audio delay adjustment. So maybe its something I'm doing and not the fault of the product. So far I've tested it on a CRT TV at home and it performed exactly as I expected. I'm not a video tech all I can say is that playing some PVR recorded TV shows, the picture looked no worse (to me) than my regular cable feed.I did have a issue with video and audio synchronization but no reviews I read mentioned this problem which was very obvious to me.
To make sure it wasn't the projector, I tried it on a standard tv, same problem.Also, it supports very few resolutions for a laptop, put in the money and buy something of better quality. You can watch a video, but you won't see any details. I hooked this product up to a projector after reading reviews that it was fine. It is impossible to read ANYTHING with this converter.
Ive called my Dell dealer twice.and still Nadda'.So I either take it in to get it to work or send it back.very disapointedSo far its no more then a lesson in frustration.Sk wellgoing on reviews of this product.I purchased one.I have a Dell Vostro 1000.and have spent the last 3 and 1/2 hrs trying to get this to work. All Im getting is a BLACK screen.
Also, running S-Video from the E-Book PC to Video back to the Media Center makes screen captures better and easier. Switching is also much easier. Absolutely worth it. Running video from a Media Center computer to a projector is clearer AND easier.
